Not only did he buy a sailboat and not sail it, he had the boat special ordered and built for him. He bought it brand new in 2008. There are photos of the boat being built, it has almost no fiberglass down below, everything is "cherry" which is to say cherry veneer on plywood, but still I have not seen another like it. He had a special order sheeting package (extra winches, tracks and cars) put on, a folding Lewmar wheel, deep keel, dockside package (microwave and stovetop he never used). He said they never slept on the boat even once, the hatch screens were still in the original packages. He did NOT get the factory cockpit cushions, instead had custom cushions made and covered to match the custom wheel cover, all done in yellow/red/orange striped Sunbrella.
