Hi Rob and Tom
In Response To: hey there Doug... ()

I had a nice experience in Camden at the city dock. I was port side to the long dock inside near the waterfall. A stone wall was a foot in front of me and a huge vessel easily 120 feet about two foot behind me. The Assitant harbor master and I worked out a warping turn that required a messenger line of another 30 foot to be thrown to him from the bow up to to top of the stone wall which was connected to two 40 foot dock lines to my port side stern cleat. With the help of a guy holding my bow from going forward the honor master pulled me 90 degrees. I then backed up and he pulled me another 90 degrees so I could motor out.
Ever since then I'm thinking I shold have at least 100 feet of 1/2 line somewhere on board for these rare occasions.
Anyway we're fine on our way to Fl and the boat is being taken care of in Winterport.
