It's interesting to note electrons flow negative to positive

If you Google "dc electron flow direction" you'll find many supporting references, and with this in mind I find it odd that the convention is to consider + "hot" and fuse the hot side when that's actually the return path of the circuit.

Just my own hypothesis.... That might explain why most faults are on the negative "ground" when in fact that's where the electrons come from.
