I burn 0.45 gph to push my 36' 15,000 lb boat at 5.7-6 knots. A quick calculation shows that at 30 hours per year of engine use the fuel saving at current prices ($2.50/gal) would pay for the new diesel in only 400 years. How can you not change to diesel with economics like that?
