Re: Who gets weather over SSB E-mail? Anyone?

We subscribe to Saildocs and use our SSB and modem to get and send emails, get cruiser net weather reports from Sonrisa and Solmate (both incl. US and Mexico forecasts), offshore and coastal GRIB files, NOAA High Seas Forecasts and Offshore Waters Forecasts (US and Mexico) and NWS Hurricane Center forecasts during hurricane season. We can also get surface synoptic charts through weatherfax. This info can be accessed when we are out of internet range, or, when we are in internet range if we wish we can download it all through an Airmail internet window called Telnet. Most of what we get right now is for Mexico, but when we were coming down the outside Baja from CA using the SSB to get the Sonrisa and Solmate weather forecasts were particularly useful. I've found the Saildocs support to be very helpful. One can ask them specific questions about areas where you need forecasts or what you need and they will provide quick info. I wish we could get eebmike through SSB but I don't think that's possible.
