It's amazing that ICOM, Standard, etc. don't have front and rear earphone jacks for their high-end fixed VHF or SSB radios.

Your suggestions would open-up a lot of innovative, flexible, and low cost solutions. Moreover, it's crazy not to allow for earphone use for a SSB which is HAM compatible. Every time I turn the unit on in the cabin, you can't search around or listen without disturbing everyone else in the cabin.
