This is the first I have heard of it. I had been hearing rumors for the last year or so that Morris was having financial difficulties. They sold their main boatyard/service facility in Bass Harbor last Spring, so it was obvious something was up. I wouldn't be surprised if Hinckley significantly reduces the number of Morris yachts being built and absorbs the Morris workforce into their Trenton facility and migrates sailboat building from Southwest Harbor to the Morris facility in Trenton. Hinckley has had a lot of trouble staffing it boat building operations lately so I am certain the entire Morris workforce will be absorbed. I wouldn't be surprised if Hinckley closes the Morris service facility in Northeast Harbor as soon as the lease is up.
