We had a situation in our club where one of our largest sailboats went down in the slip from a malfunctioning knotmeter thru hull. It was the last boat for the owner, it was what he always wanted, purchased and transported here, and fitted out by him for long distance cruising. He had it over to the med, down to the Bahamas and was back building up his cruising kitty. When it went down he was crushed, the insurance company totaled the boat but he wouldn't let it go. He bought it back from the insurance company and has been working on it for the last four years replacing and repairing the damage. He hopes to leave again in the spring.
