In that my boat is shoal draft, it backs up to rise, I could almost see the cockpit being slid up to the deck level, on planks. The life lines and stanchions are removed leaving enough room. I am blocked on each side with tight boats so the cockpit would have to be carried a hundred feet or so around and up a slight incline. I guess I'll wait to see how manageable it is with 4 people lifting it.
I was thinking about the boom on the local travelift. I used that to lower a heavier engine into the boat, a few years ago. The problem is that I'm afraid it could not get close enough to the cockpit. There's no room to stradle the boats, they are brought in on a trailer.
The above is why a small crane might be the best. I think it would be easy to guide into place lowered from a crane, standing on the big side and aft decks. A big question: would I test fit and raise, or slather the flange with epoxy, and go for it?
