in Mextoc then I would buy one that generates a small amount of amps in light winds. In Mexico, mostly it's light winds so you want the generator to generate something at very low wind speed but all the time. If you are going into the Carribean where you'll have more wind then you can go with a unit that puts out more amps during the afternoon and evening. To have a higher output unit in Mexico means it will sit idle much of the time. I would rather have a small amount all of the time then a high amount only some of the time if I was staying in a low wind location. Just my HO.
