Neil, when I was shopping for a new GPS/chart plotter for the current boat I was amazed at the difference price between the Navionics charts for Raymarine and Garmin charts. The Garmin was about 1/3 the price. That made my decision much easier, or so I thought until I found a place in Wisconsin that was all but giving away a Raymarine unit that was a couple of years old and we did a little wheeling and dealing on the E-charts ($40).

Otherwise I would never have purchased the Raymarine or the required charting software from Navionics.
