Keel-Hull Joint

There is a small crack (as frequently happens) at the keel-hull joint on my Freedom 40/40> I can open it up and fill it, but I am wondering what to use. West system or other epoxy comes to mind first, but two questions come up.
1: what would you add to it, graphite, microballoons etc.
2: As it is rigid, will I not be in the same place a few years down the line due to different expansion/contraction speeds.
Could one consider using a flexible, paintable material since it is not really a structural spot?

I know this is a common problem, just want to see if there are any new ideas?
