1) "Do you use the NOAA charts of the Navionics, and why?" No not at all. The Navionics charts are far better than the government ENC, they're indexed with more place names when searching, they contain tide, current and other handy info onscreen.

2) "I do like the heading 'dial' on Navionics. It's a handy sailing reference for making tacks to windward." Not sure I know what you mean by dial -- There's a real-time projected course line that is definitely handy. I consider it a mandatory feature in on-screen navigation. You should take it out in your car (while your wife drives) so you can get a feel for the behavior in motion.

3) "Do you use the Skipper app for AC access mostly?" Yes, that's exactly why I use it, and to reference NOAA Raster charts and government Topo maps onscreen, AND satellite views on screen (when Internet is available). The NOAA raster charts are still the gold standard (IMHO) for onscreen info. The AC info along with the raster/topo/satellite info is more helpful for scoping out possible anchorages and getting a better preview of the onshore features surrounding an anchorage.
