Good advice. With that, I've moved this project to the 'deferred until next season' list.

I went over my old cables with the rigger today, and he says they'll be fine for another coastal sailing season or two(just a few 'meat hooks'). Plus they're 1/4" wire where as the Edson kits are 3/16", which might be small for my wheels.

It would be nice to rig everything now but all the fitting has to be done on the boat anyway. And now that I have disassembled everything, it's not that tough a task to swap parts out.
