In the US and Canada, unless you're working your way into an anchorage or in thick fog, I think it's always best to obey the buoys. Sure, there are a lot of them that you can cheat on but first you need to know they're there and then be sure you know there's enough water around them. It's always safe to honor them.

Our sails are at Bohndell for a few minor repairs. When we go to pick them up, don't know when yet, we'd like to stop and get a look at the renewed Christmas if you're around. I'll let you know as soon as Bohndell calls.
