Actually, that's pretty typical for some Larry
In Response To: Based on your short season ()

Labor Day is the end of boating season for many people here, they actually start hauling boats for the season the weekend after. School is in, fall sports, football ticket holders, hunting season starts Labor Day weekend as well. Being that we live here we try and hang on until the first weekend in October, many boat owners live south, some as far away as Pittsburgh. By mid-October our boat will be winterized and covered for the year.

The "official" season is May 1 to October 31. After that the navigation aids start getting pulled, ice dams are in place and everything closes down. Our club will be shut down and winterized by the first weekend in November, power and water to the docks and picnic shelters is off, heavy equipment is winterized and put up for the winter.
