Our son's sailboat is in a real Maine boat-yaaahd.

I used to store our last boat here. There are various sheds, some to protect boats, a few are by boat builders doing work inside, some owners have set up rag tag enclosures to cover tools and parts.

Old engines on the ground, old boats either coming back or on their death bed. Chatters Boatyard is a dreamland to walk around. Some of the dreams are broken and lay scattered around on the grounds.

But it's a fun place. It's smaller boats (we stored our last one here 28'), most are under 30 feet. The owner runs it very well. Everyone is very friendly and quick to lend you a tool or advice, or a beer.

I love these shops set up around the boats. These boats aren't launching soon. The owners look serious.

Our son is in his last exam in Rome, Italy, and comes home this weekend. We've found him a free mooring(70 feet from ours!), for the season but no luck on finding a comparably priced dinghy to go with his new $1 boat. His boat doesn't need much work so we'll get it in the water quickly.
