Every time a company tries to set up a wind farm here, no matter where it is, everyone is up in arms and the company just goes away. The last group tried twice to lease space in grape vineyards east of us. The grape growers were good with it but the residents(what few there are) complained the wind turbines would interfere with their way of life, the bird people got involved because the turbines would kill birds, etc and so forth. They gave up.
Funny thing, at night I can see the red clearance lights flashing on all the windmills on the Canadian side of the lake. They also drill into the huge natural gas reserves under Lake Erie, drilling is prohibited on the U.S. side.
