Wind power generation is growing in Maine though there are plenty of NIMBY folks around, in my neighborhood a proposal in Frankfort was voted down twice, ironically though the town has more transmission lines going through than any other town in the area. I think those are uglier than windmills. All these components come through Searsport on the way to the project sites, going up rte 1 and 1A to the interstate, this employs a lot of different people. I think the wings are the most impressive parts

I'm not certain of the status of the offshore project except that some sort of approval has been granted by the PUC.
