I'm collecting parts to re-do my propane locker. I bought a new Trident regulator and pressure gauge and notice they use a red sealant that appears to be similar to lock tite. I've always used a pipe dope called "Gasoila" that remains semi flexible and has worked OK, though I suspect it weakens after a few years and I occasionally re-do the connections.

I'm cleaning up the propane locker (making the regulator wall-mounted rather than hanging on the tank) and making it easier to use foreign propane tanks tied into my existing system.
