This was 15 years ago. In Belize these boats, many with old patched together sails, are used for fishing and delivering cargo. They have no deck and no engine and they’re fast.. They run at night with no lights. I met one of the captains and asked him "What do you call these kinds of boats?" He looked at me as if uncertain how to respond to such a dumb question from an imbecile. “It’s a sailing boat," he said.
