A few days ago it became very difficult to turn our wheel to port, with the Raymarine autopilot on standby, although the auto functionworks fine.
I replaced the type 2 short linear drive, and all is well.
So far I have the faulty linear drive partially dismantled.
When turning he main shaft manually all is smooth. Same when turned by the motor.
With the clutch disconnected, it is easy to pull the drive rod out full length, but impossible t push it back it.
I runs back in easily by turning the shaft.
I intend to dismantle further.
Any advice?
How to avoid a shower of ball bearings? Are they captive?
Any advice welcome
