Westy, Tom and some others. Your suspicions were correct: the Balmar duo charge served as the conduit through which the power went to the house side of the battery. I pulled the fuse, and there was the answer. It is always odd to me how a problem like this will take up so much time when the solution is so simple. So thanks for the suggestions and, as usual, I owe the members on this board a round of thanks. And to Tom's thinking regarding the possibility that the Duo Charge may be the cause of the ground fault, I don't know and I will certainly look into it. I have no idea if I can even trouble shoot it and I have had it for a long time--installed it when we were cruising and in Ft. Lauderdale in 2007, so it may be telling me something. There is no question regarding the batteries, though, the specific gravity in each cell was amazing.
