Yikes! You are lucky you found the prop.

Mine is on the taper so tight that I have to use a prop puller, gently heat it and tap it with a hammer to get it loose. Only took at off a couple of times in 25 years.

The nut stayed tight over the years too. I seem to recall that the nut had a setscrew on it but never saw the need to use it.
