I am not a fan of Hunters, and think their quality is at the low end of the scale of production boats. Still, after reading the whole tome it seems to me like much or his problem is with the dealer, and most of the rest of them are just part of buying a new boat. There are going to be problems. The help you get to fix them is going to be a mixed bag in terms of expertise. My own custom boat cost at least one order of magnitude higher, and there were problems with equipment and rigging. Not some of the stupid problems he is dealing with, but problems. He is naive to assume that because some dock worker told him "everything checks out" that is does. My assumption is, if I haven't personally checked out a system, it very likely doesn't work.
