but I believe that the same unit, when linked with Nobeltec functioned very well. I think that not having it display on top a chart only complicates your ablity to easily translate the information in most coastal situations. Offshore, I'm not sure it's that big a deal (because presumably the chart means little in a wide-open situation; but, otherwise, I really think you'd be missing a lot of the functionality.

WHY don't you want it to display on a comptuter screen vs. a standalone unit.
