and I do agree with the posters who have commented about Globalstar. Unless, you have time to waste, at the least, go with Iridium. Same depressingly slow service but at least, theirs is available when you want it! If you still would like Globalstar, I could sell you my marinized set-up, if I can get up the mast and take it down before we freeze our butts of in Maine. I was one of the people who signed up for their unlimited "loyalty" rates. Little did I know, that "unlimited" was a reference to the number of times I need to re-dial to get a lasting connection. Seriously, though, for your very limited needs, a rented Iridium sat phone is your best and cheapest solution.
