the tank into my 4 cycle generator and never had a problem. I would pull the end fitting off and stick the hose into the generator tank and pump away. The generator never missed a beat. I would run the gas out prior to putting it back in the locker and that's the extent of the maintenance I would do other then changing the oil once in a while. I didn't even notice any extra smoke. I ran the generator with it sitting in the dinghy so I wouldn't hear it or feel any vibration.
