Those of you who have following the Baja weather probably know about the predictions for gale force winds and 15-20ft seas midweek. The winds look like 20-30 or so now, but the seas are still predicted to be up. The HaHa decided to send everyone to San Quintin for the first leg to anchor and avoid the worst of it, and then go on to Turtle when things cleared up. Smaller boats that couldn't make San Quintin by nightfall Tuesday get to roll their own port. The boat I am on decided (after some prodding) to get a late start on Thursday morning instead so we can go straight to Turtle and catch up a bit on the fleet without spending some time in the swells off of San Quintin. Or worrying about the storm speeding up, slowing down, or intensifying. Must be getting more conservative in my old age. ;) Now if the hurricanes stay away ...
