After reading it, I think I MAY have figured out what the pirates are after: they don't want to ransom the Chandlers..they plan to hold them as "insurance" to allow 'em to take larger ships worth a lot in ransom.

"Any attack [on his colleagues] may endanger the lives of the two old people we captured," Noh told Sky News.

Iow, if you try to stop any of us from taking ANY other ship, we'll kill them.
