The consumer had the opportunity to make side by side comparisons of the offerings from the industry, the builders saw firsthand that 9 out of 10 of them went straight downstairs without ever taking a stroll around the deck, and from that point on, boats have been designed from the inside out...

Boat Shows, and the proliferation of the Charter business, have forever changed the boats we sail... The irony today is the only boats being built with adequate side deck are the fancy daysailers from Morris, Friendship, and the rest - boats that will never go offshore, indeed the only time anyone will likely leave the cockpit is to pick up a mooring...
