We rigged our dock-dinghy with a small bilge pump, water-sensing switch and right-angle thru-hull in the gunnel. It's powered with a 7-AH sealed lead-acid alarm system battery (under $20 if you shop) and charge it once a month. Our dinghy happens to have a small well so we don't need to bail at all, but this system would be worthwhile to minimize bailing even in a flat bottom boat.
