We were cleaning our 9 year old Stratoglass on the dodger and apparently over the years it has become brittle as we were polishing out a scratch and in the process of putting pressure while polishing we heard a 'CRACK' and now there's a 2 inch clean crack in the Stratoglass.

My first thought is to do do the standard, 'drill a small hole at each end of the crack' to keep it from continuing but then what? We could put a clear patch over the crack but it will look like hell. Another thought is to drill the holes and put a thin bead of epoxy on each side. This is all guess work at the moment.

Anyone know the best way to secure the crack so it doesn't continue?(nl)
