It appears to me that the account was slanted by Ladonna at latitude

The report said that they cautiously approcached the mooring ball. How do you cautiously approach at such a speed that you hang yourself on a reef ?, and, how do you run aground on a reef that's obviously on the charts? What's this about trying to paddle the dingy and couldn't get anywhere because they had only one paddle? As I understand, they were headed from Monterey to the Channel Islands. That's about 300 miles with a dingy that had no means of getting them to shore when they got there. The addition of the environmental slant is a joke.

The accounting is being told by a Latitude reporter that has taken what the captain told her (obviously being pissed off at loosing his boat) and left out information needed to make a true accounting. I would think a big part of that is the Captains incompetence and finger pointing.

Just my opinion.
