We purchased a Kiss wind generator in 2002 from Doug (the manufacturer) while we were in Chaguaramas. The bearings went out last year so I ordered a repair kit from Hotwire. While installing the bearings I managed to destroy the thing and decided to purchase a new one.

I called John and discussed purchasing a new Kiss from him. He suggested that I contact Doug in Trinidad as he would probably give me a discount as a returning customer with a problem and could ship it to me in California for not much more than he could if I wasn't in a hurry. John gave me Doug's cell phone number as he hardly answers the shop phone. I called Doug in Trinidad and told him the story. He gave me $200.00 off the price of a new one and shipped it to me for a reasonable price.

I thought that was a very good gesture on the part of John at Hotwire. Because of that gesture I purchased an Engel 35 we had wanted from him. It's not often a company will suggest that you'll get a better deal by going directly to the manufacturer.
