Apparently not. First, that's a hard dodger (you can follow this link to some high res photos http://dbsail.org/PeacefulWarrior/) and 2nd, the rigid vang holds the boom up off the dodger. There is just a little of the cover lightly resting on it where it sags off the boom. I will keep an eye on it though. As with any new-to-you boat, there are about a zillion details to be learned.
