An infrared linescanner we use for an imaging system we produce uses 2 ea. RS-323. Once notebooks started not including serial ports (and PC-MCIA slots for a second serial port) we tried a few converters. Results were spotty until we found Keyspan USA-19HS to work every time. We have not tried the multi-port versions so cannot comment on those.
