As you and Westy noted, it probably didn't happen the way he told it... but he probably really THOUGHT those thoughts.

My hunch is he made his wife happy and negotiated with the kids; paid them something less than $40, they shoveled the drive.

Also the snow didn't "melt in a few days", and he's going to get another 10-20 inches today. HA HA!
