It does fit. The excessively narcissistic attempting to control their world (and failing to do so) would build a confined micro-universe (wall) that is controllable. What better micro-kingdom that a boat in an ocean?

You have to admit that in going around and around in a boat there is little pleasure. Detachment from active social life, functional friendships, conversation, love could be a way of attempting to resolve a internal conflicts by running away.

It may pass a an eccentric way of life, and the pursuit of personal limits. Or it could be the opposite: the search for safe limits.
