Simple...but not really! Cardboard template...and, indeed, the bolts weren't all straight! It was an exacting job,

done for an unexacting client (he had earlier hit a rock at 7 knots!) The boat suffered massive damage, which he wasn't aware of originally --after he hit the rock last fall, he promptly returned to the yard from which he had just left (and which shall remain unnamed, for they charged him, a new boat owner, $1400 for a haul out and bottom paint). They then found some "minor" cracks around the keel, "repaired" them with bondo or some such filler, charged him for the job. A surveyor later discovered massive hull damage, around the keel --cracks everywhere, even at the mast step on the keel. The boat was then hauled and the guy I'm working with now was given the job...to do right. Rig was pulled, entire cabin floor fiberglass pan cut out, keel dropped. $110K worth of insurance damage...the boat probably should've been written off. Well, now it's been fixed properly...anyway, the keel is now on, and fairing has begun...LOTS of jobs remaining
