..a fairly hospitable coast line, canals, bays, and such to travel such far distances in large parts of the year. Heck, you can move down to the Gulf Coast, over to many warm islands....heavy sigh.

We're so limited here by the rough coast, few ports, etc. NO canals to travel. Puget Sound and north is nice but time limited much more than the east coast. I'm hoping for a trip down the Columbia a few hundred miles but the ICW..oh my!
