And I would also agree, that on occasion there have been Huge Explosions and fires in a Marina where a Propane Leak blew up the Boat and probably everyone on it. But explosions like this are really pretty rare, and not a common occurrence.
Let me use the BVI's as an example - This is just a guess, but I would bet that there are over 500 sailboats in the BVI Bareboat Charter Fleet. And most all of these have Propane tanks on the boats. I have not heard of a big problem with these systems. And, there are a great number of Bare Boat Charters that are Captained by folks that are pretty inexperienced in using Propane on a yacht. One would think if there was a big problem with Propane, that it would surely show up in the BareBoat charters there.
But going back to the Bloom Box - I'm not certain if you could even use propane for a fuel source on a boat. As you said - it may take hundreds of pounds to make it work.
