It was 10 years old. It seems that the motor in the antenna is dead. It is a pretty easy fix, but costs about 2/3 of what the unit did new. On top of that I would still have a piece of 10 year old electronics after the repair. I have decided to buy a new radar rather than fix the old one. That decision was motivated a bit by my purchase of a multifunction display last spring. The Furuno chart plotter I bought in '97 still works fine though. It doesn't have the memory/software to use a new chart card, so it is rather limited
