I have a HOUSE bank of 3 AGM G27 (90Ah) 4 year old DEKA batteries. The Start bank is 1 AGM G27 7 year old DEKA. Charging is via a Honda or the engine, no solar or wind. We use about 60 Ah/day, plus or minus. When we are cruising, I combine both banks via the Battery Swtich to BOTH, so we get more battery capacity and watch things like a hawk. The L20 is working with the Start battery just fine, counting up and back down, Resetting when we get to + Amp Hours. With the House side, the L20 accumulates amp hours, when we charge, the L20 does not count back down accurately, according to teh L20 my chraging rates drop off quickly when there is considerable Ah still out, according to the L20. But, I don't there there are these many Ah out on the House, the voltages are up and I think the problem is the meter is reading Ah out incorrectly, because it is not counting what is going back in correctly.
I checked the connections and looked for corrosion. I did not do the install, but noticed twisted pair from the Start Shunt to the L20, but no twisted pair from the House Shunt to the meter, perhaps this could be it ?
After a few weeks, I either have to motor for several hours or plug in to shore power for the House side to reset. Or I can manually do the Reset on the meter or by removing for 5-10 mins the fuse and replacing. But since the Start side is working fine and accurately, I'm curious why the House side is not ?
Any ideas or has anyone seen this before ?
Thanks, cheers, John
