you don't plan on cruising it for more then an overnight do as Ron said and buy the boat and enjoy it. If you plan on actually cruising it, which you say you don't, then wait and get a larger boat. Room while cruising is really nice to have. Room at the dock is not so important. I cruised a 30 footer for three years and while you can do it, it got to be a bit old around the third year.
