In Response To: "Risk averse" vs. "foolhardy".... ()
I can think of a LOT worse choices than an Open 40 - specially designed for solo trans-ocean *racing*.
It certainly wasn't a "foolhardy" choice, nor was disaster "inevitable" - even with a sailor of her
experience.
On the other hand, if the object wasn't to set a recod for time and speed, why choose a Formula
One racing machine?
