damage

Thanks guys, I am familiar with Coecles Harbor and the Billy Joel boats. That's a rate I don't care to pay! I am looking for a small one man operation that will do good work for good value. Greenport is the home of Brewer's Yacht Yard but they are a long drive from the south fork where I am located. I am really looking for a guy from the south shore area between say Westhampton and Montauk that could easily get to my boat.

Damage occured to about 5 feet of toe rail, which consists of a 5 inch wide piece of teak, and then a 2 inch side piece fastened up tight against the top piece, in essence forming an L shape with top and side as one. The top rail was ripped off during the storm as the boat was heeled over about 30 degrees in the slip and was bashed into the piling. My rub rail could not protect the boat at that angle of heel. Also, I have rubber on the piling that usually protects me, but I think that perhaps the boat got caught against the top of the rubber and this may have worked to push up the side of the toe rail. I need to extend the length of the rubber padding so that the top is well beyond the top of my toe rail at high tide( which it was during the storm).

You live and you learn! I've been in that slip for 20 years and never had this happen before!
