We just finished our 2 week vacation trip that we spent moving our boat from the Mahone Bay area of Nova Scotia around to the Shediac Bay area of New Brunswick via the Canso Causeway and PEI. Around 400nm. A big trip for us with the 2 kids and the dog but it was a good adventure all around. We avoided fog on the Eastern Shore of NS but did get a good opportunity to join the " I'll never tow a dinghy again" crowd. I took a lifetime membership... We saw some whales, porpoises, seals, a sunfish and passed though a couple schools of Bluefin tuna. Sat out a gale for a couple days in Canso and lounged around Charlottetown PEI (which is a nice place to hang out) waiting for a fair breeze that never came. As always, we met some great folks along the way. We used the engine more than I had hoped but we had a lot of headwinds and needed to make some time. The new Yanmar worked a treat! We had a couple rough days but everyone held up well and we were all still speaking at the end. Well, except for Tilley, our dog. When the dock lines were secured at our new marina, she jumped off the boat, onto the dock, into the water and swam to shore. She was done.
