We have davits which were on the boat so its not our personal experience
but knew a boat, Valeda IV from Toronto who used one like that. except as I
recall they towed the dinghy backwards. they travelled from Toronto all
over Europe and the Caribbean with it and always used it except for the
transatlantic. Their boat was an ontario 32
