This is the first boat we have had that was equipped with engine controls on the pedestal so I'm not sure what I am actually looking for to resolve another issue.

The throttle seems overly stiff, but at the same time will not stay at a setting. It will slowly creep back to the idle position. I would expect just the opposite, but then this seems to be a recurring theme. I looked over the cable attachment to the throttle assembly on the Yanmar and see no evidence of a missing spring or anything that would control placement.

I realize this is a vague description, but I can't do any better right now. Any thoughts? I am thinking replace the throttle cable only because I have no other ideas.
